Censorship

Ignoring. Trying to deny the existence of someone/something. I’ve come to find that we censor things that we don’t understand. We censor things we deem offensive, such as language, violence, blood, etc. But lastly, we censor things that we fear. We fear the reaction it receives. We fear the emotion it evokes. We fear the impact of the person or thing becoming even greater than it previously was. But in some cases, the censorship indeed helps to grow the movement, because it shines a light on the importance of the subject being censored. It reminds us of how much that impact, that message, is needed. When prayer and God were removed from schools, it was made PAINFULLY CLEAR how much we need him. Today, while offended, I’m not surprised nor upset to hear that Colin Kaepernick’s name was censored out of a song in Madden 19, because his message and it’s meaning hasn’t been understood since it began. His standing up by kneeling down was deemed offensive to those who ignored the reasons behind it, and the fact that it was one of the troops he was “offending” that came up with kneeling as an alternative. So thank you EA Sports for renewing the purpose, without even knowing you were doing it. If the world forgot that the struggles Colin and others kneeled or raised a closed fist for are STILL REAL, they definitely remember it now.

Trust The Process

I’ve spent a lot of time this week looking at things from a numerical sense. Looking at numbers, numbers of visitors, numbers of page views, plays, how many songs I’ve written, all numbers. Numbers are often disappointing, because no matter what numbers you see, you’ll always subconsciously think those numbers could be better. You’ll feel like the support should be greater, the views should be higher, we tend to look at these types of things to illustrate success.

Success comes in perseverance. Staying strong when you’re the only one in the room. Success is breaking new ground. Going harder, higher, further, than you previously imagined. The problem in breaking new ground is that often times, you’re starting from nothing, with nothing. Numbers can’t indicate success in uncharted territory. So trust the process. The numbers may not be where we want them. They may not be where we expected them. But let’s hang in there. Nothing of worth comes easy

Ground Zero...

I wanna take this time to thank all of those who have chosen to support me and this movement. Words can’t express how I feel, finally getting to work on this vision, and knowing that I have you with me. Like most things in life, this is gonna be a long ride. Lots of twists and turns. Some breaks our way and some breaks designed to tear us down. But I look forward to having and cultivating the support I have from each of you.

This LoveStyle movement is starting at ground Zero. The lowest level possible. No need for going back to basics, we’re starting at the basics. Building a foundation, off of work ethic, focus, consistency, but more importantly, togetherness. This is for you. I know this is an underdog story, a story about a dog nobody’s even heard of before. But there will be no days, weeks, months, or moments of stagnation or complacency on my end. Be it a blog, song, newsletter, show, t shirt, anything, there will be SOMETHING you can expect to come from me consistently. We’re growing here. Thank you for sticking with me thus far. Stay tuned to see where we’re growing next..
